Every week, the CPO program helps 30-40 people who are homeless or otherwise disadvantaged in our community. We do this to follow the command of Jesus who said “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me” in Matthew 25:40. We cannot accomplish this mission without resources. As we approach the colder months, we are in need of several items. If you can help with Nonperishable food items, sleeping bags, blankets or even just shoeboxes, we can put the items to good use, serving the Lord’s kingdom. Please prayerfully consider donating one or more of these items or making a monetary donation.
On Monday night, a Connecting Point member, Jeremy Varner had a massive heart attack. He required 6 shocks with the defibrillator to get his heart back to a normal rhythm. On Tuesday morning, nearly 40 people gathered to pray for Jeremy, asking that God would intervene. After spending three days sedated, with his body temperature kept at 91 degrees, the doctors began to revive him. Today, less than one week later, he was discharged from the hospital; his doctors expect him to make a full recovery. This amazing recovery cannot be attributed to medicine alone. The hand of God was clearly at work.
In James 5:16, the Bible directs us to “pray for each other so that you may be healed.” It then adds “the prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”
We have truly seen a powerful example of this truth in the life of Jeremy. Please continue to stand with us in prayer as this man continues the healing process at home. We are confident that God will continue to work, and that His work will continue to be evident.
This is an Arabic letter ‘Nun.’ Right now, in Iraq, Syria and much of the Middle East, this letter is being spray-painted on the homes and businesses of Christians, marking them for persecution by militant Islamists. Just as Jews and Christians were marked in Nazi Germany, they are being marked now.
Men, women and children are dying, in horrible ways as we speak. Please stand in prayer with us as we seek God’s mercy for these fellow believers.

But forget all that— it is nothing compared to what I am going to do. For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland. -Isaiah 43:18-19 NLT
